Attaining the Goal of Peace within the Region

Israel, the United States and the Palestinian Authority cannot reach these settlements on their own. The U.S. and its allies such as Saudi Arabia and Egypt must pressure the Arab states to accept these principles and points. The United States must convince Israel to accept these proposals. It will probably also be necessary for the United Nations to deploy an international force in the occupied territories.

There are still groups such as Hamas that do not recognize the right of a Jewish state to exist. On the other hand, there are members of the Israeli government who do not recognize the rights of Palestinians to live on their own land in their own state anywhere west of the Jordan River. If these voices are allowed to prevail, there will be no peace.
