Dear Pat Allard MBA, An open letter of protest.Let my People Go !!!! I raised him as a Jew from the day that he was born. He is a brilliant kid who also understands and respects his Cuban heritageand Methodist traditions as well. David Lopez Blass, age 14, has observed Yom Kippur, Rosha Shana and Passoverwith me every year of his life. I have virtually thousands of witnesses to attest to this fact from our family, our temple and the entire Jewish, Christian and Muslim Community in South Florida. Again I offer to take a lie detector test and challenge you and your staffto do the same as to David's Jewish Education. In fact we have been under a family court order to always observe Yom Kippurand Rosha Shana when he had his parenting time with me for the past 14 years.Questioning my sons Jewish Traditions is yet another proof that you are managing an abusive anti-religious cult not worthy of operating in our great country. Let me also add that questioning my child's Jewish Traditions while he is sedated for 105 days on arbitrarily administered psychotropic drugs and totally intimidated by your so called staff of bullies that includes a convicted DUI killer is a horrible violation of basic constitutional rights of my child and of the whole family. It is reminiscent of the lying Nazis and cynical Gestapo methods that my family and the entire Jewish nation found so deadly. Who is the pretend "Jewish" staff member who questioned him? I do not know of any religious Jews or Rabbis on your staff. The kids are not allowed to express their Jewishness in any way .In fact some of them had tears of joy in their eyes when in your absence I was allowed to pray with all the kids for Shana Tova and Hatima Tova and you should have seen the huge smile on my son's face as the wish was publiclymade. Some other kids prayed with me later on and I saw their joy and delight at showing off their Hebrew from home and temple. One girl prayed: Baruch Ata Adonayi Melech Et Ha Ulam...she was so proud!!! You cannot deny freedom of religion for it is guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States of America. Jeff Fisher keeps reminding me of the value of our rights set force by this nations founding fathers and all those brave Americans who died protecting our freedom, especially in WWII. Without the actions of Americans none of us would be here as free people. God Bless every Veteran of WWII and thank you Mr. Fisher for your beliefs for protecting David Lopez Blass and thank you WWII Veterans for all of what you have done and also for your love and support for my son for so many years. I am asking all people of good will to write and to call Governor Bush, Senator Graham and Nelson, and DCF Lucy Hadi to overturn your absurd and anti-Semitic denial of Yom Kippur observance for my son David Lopez Blass and for all other Jewish kids at Growing Together Inc. My
friend and future lawmaker Jeff Fisher joins in asking or in his word
"demanding" that the other children who are Christian to have the right
to celebrate Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter!!! Growing Together has
been denying these holidays for 15 years. Jeff Fisher and I think your
actions are monstrous. Needless
to say Congressman Fisher fully concurs with the above statement that
my family and all of our friends on the Internet who have been
following this travesty. Although
we are not a religious organization, we do try to remain sensitive to
and respect each client's religious preference in celebrating their
religious holidays and, at the same time, stay within our policies
and procedures. With that in mind, please refer to your parents
manual, page 33, which addresses your request under 1st phase
regulations. Although you have had an opportunity to meet
with your son many times over the last 3 months, according to our
own policies and procedures and the fact that your son has been court
ordered to our program, we cannot release him to you at this
time. Again, in wanting to remain sensitive to your son's
needs, one of our Jewish staff members was discussing Yom Kippur
with your son. She was surprised to learn that he had very little
knowledge about Yom Kippur and he stated he may have celebrated it
once with you when he was a child. Although his comments
do not in any way effect our policies and procedures, I, too,
was surprised by how much they conflicted with the information
provided in your e-mail. Further, DCF has not informed me that
they appointed Jeff Fisher as a mediator. Again, because your
information does not match with my understanding, I will not
communicate with Jeff Fisher.We hope to see you tomorrow at the Friday
night meeting.
