2004

The Year that the People Took back America

To the voters,

I have campaigned for the last 33 years for Democrats. In 2002, I campaigned for 11 Democrats. During 2000 I campaigned for 10 Democrats. This year I campaigned for 20 different Democratic candidates. This year I am going to start by endorsing John Kerry for President.

For Vice President I was an advocate for Howard Dean to be the vice presidential choice. Today, July 6th, 2004 John Edwards became the vice presidential candidate.

The choice is made and Dr. Dean is asking all Democrats to "Unite and Support" this ticket. Howard Dean can lead Democrats now toward victory on November 2, 2004 by "Taking Back America". This can be achieved by sweeping both Houses of Congress and the White House of dirty and corrupt Republicans and employing progressive Democrats to restore order in the United States of America and in the eyes of the world opinions. Howard Dean can lead Democrats after the election by taking over the Democratic National Committee.

For the U.S. Senate representing the State of Florida, which took time and effort to evaluate what was best for the nation and for the State of Florida, there are three candidates; two are very good. Betty Castor and Peter Deutsch.

Alex Penelas has spirit and youth but lacks conviction toward the Democratic Party. He proved that in 2000 with the dismissal of Al Gore. In 2002 he showed his dedication for Jeb Bush against Janet Reno, and in 2003 he showed his lack of concern for Civil Liberties when he allowed the U.S. Government storm troopers (aka FBI/Homeland Security) to harass protesters, such as me, at the FTAA Rally in Miami in October 2003. It was peaceful and non violent until the federal permits expired at 4:00 in the afternoon. The police then fired plastic bullets and tear gas into the crowd to incite a riot. I took photos of this. Alex did nothing about these criminal acts by our own government in the ensuing days after the rally.

Peter Deutsch is qualified for the U.S. Senate. He is intelligent and aggressive. His foreign policy record is exceptional. We are in a time of war and we need a senator who knows how to get things done in a Bob Graham fashion, southern and polite. I would like to see Congressman Peter Deutsch as an ambassador to Israel starting in 2005.

Yes, I have decided to endorse Betty Castor. She is another Bob Graham, she is about the children, she is Florida's shining star to represent our nation into an era of peace from the nightmare of war. Betty Castor is progressive, a label that America needs in both Houses of Congress.

My reasons for endorsing Howard Dean as the parties chief spokesman are as follows:

Most Americans oppose the war in Iraq. Dean can remind everyone that the Iraq war was indeed wrong and Dean was right all along

Young voters are inspired by Dean to go the polls.

African-Americans are attracted to Dean’s message of equality for all.

The key this year is to defeat Bush. Howard Dean woke the sleeping giant this year_the American voter who felt disenfranchised from the political mainstream. Let Howard go into the sleepy towns in Florida like Wellington, in New York, like Johnson City, and in Texas, like Richardson. He may be met with disdain by the Republicans but he will also show them that Democrats are no longer going to jump when the GOP cries "wolf".

Democrats need to Wake Up and Smell the Coffee.

The Republicans have been dictating how and what works in campaigning. They tell us that money wins. Bush has money, so does Foley. John Kerry is beating Bush in the polls with less money, what makes my campaign hopes any different?

I have been campaigning against a Republican who has over 2.5 million dollars in his war chest and a project called Scripps, that has grown in cost from $300,000,000 to the taxpayers of Palm Beach County to a whopping $1,000,000,000 in just a few months.

Mark Foley knows how to expand the cost to taxpayers not only regarding supposedly job creation but also military spending. Mark
Foley has turned a small military project, Freeing Iraq, from an estimated $5,000,000,000 projected cost back in February 2003 into a cost of today of $116,542,000,000.

Lets put that into perspective, that money could have hired 102,842 full-time teachers in the State of Florida.

That money could provide health insurance for 2,314,297 children in the State of Florida for one year.

That money could have sent 136,950 Floridains to public colleges in the State of Florida for four years.

That money could have been used to build 77,132 affordable housing units in Florida.

Mark Foley has never lived a life of poverty trying to maintain a roof over his head. The people who live in Fort Pierce, White City, Avon Park, Labelle, Clewiston, Rivera Beach, Stuart, Belle Glade, Pahokee and South Bay, to name a few, would have had a chance to live like everyone else if these funds were re-directed for humanitarian causes within the State of Florida instead of a foreign nation that represented no real threat to America.

I may be poor financially, however my lack of funds has given me inner strength to ensure that Mark Foley loses this election by a landslide. My debt is high, but what you have done to this nation makes my debt be only a grain of sand on the beach.

Congressman Foley's ability and persistent attitude to increase our national debt is equal to hundreds of yards of beachfront property. That debt equates to over $1308 to every person in Florida. He has put 13,000,000 people into debt without their permission. My personal debt would have put the same people into debt by approximately $ 0.15

Do the math. Congressman Foley makes $1302 in three days. Its no big deal for him. Most people in the State of Florida make about $247 every 3 days. In Okeechobee, Glades, Hendry and Highlands County the average amount earned in three days is about $148.00. These people have bills to pay, including healthcare costs, Congressman Foley gets healthcare for free. The people of District 16 have to pay into Social Security, Congressman Foley is exempt from this payroll deduction. It must be nice to sit on top of the world and paint a rosy picture Congressman living the good life at the expense of the average working American.

I am polling ahead of Republican Congressman Mark Foley by 5 points. I have raised a little over $15,000. The DCCC, Unions and Party Heads are not helping me financially because they only see dollar signs. I continue to fight for the people without funding and keep rising to the top of the political mountain. Howard Dean took his success and passed it on to Progressive Democrats across this nation when he decided that John Kerry will be the choice for all Americans. That is the kind of character I want in Washington D.C. supporting President Kerry.

Its time to take control of our destiny. A good man, Michael Kirshner, told me on June 23rd that winning the election requires asking the Republicans; why they think they can dictate everyone's life without questioning their own motives? The President says "I didn't authorize torture". I say ask him, "Did you authorize humiliation?" The President is very good at saying one thing and evading what lies between the lines of partial truths. On June 23rd, I also recieved advice that said you must be able to understand the lives of the people to govern properly. Thank you, Ms. Janet Reno.

Democrats must Unite and Defeat the GOP this year.
